The words from my mouth has power
I really have to share this with you guys. You see, only 5 guys from my class had passed the NAPFA examination, so while the rest are re-taking it during our PE lessons, we get to play games. This week, we’re starting on basketball. Well, that’s a problem for me, because I can’t play basketball (I’m not the sports kinda guy). To make things worse, the rest of them can. So I kinda got left out a bit (wasn’t their fault). I didn’t really enjoy myself, and I even got some injuries, including a minor sprain on my thumb while trying to catch a backetball. So during the next PE lesson of the week, I was thinking to myself “I hate basketball…”.
This time, we were with another teacher and some other classes. This teacher made us practice lay-ups (I think that’s what they’re called) and for some reason, I was told to try first. I was like “why me…” in my head when I went forward, lifted the ball and… Pah! slipped onto the floor, twisting my right ankle in the process. It was really painful so the teacher told me to sit by the side. As I sat down, God spoke to me. He said “Well, you did say you hated basketball…” Was that a revelation… it reminded me of a message in church where Pastor Prince taught us that the words from our mouth has power, so be careful of what you confess! Oops… Thank God I got a chance to learn from this. The bible says that all trials in our life has redeeming qualities, so we should take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake (2 Corithians 12:10).
So that’s what I did, I laid hands on my ankle and confessed that I will be healed! Hei Man encouraged me by confessing with me too. Unfortunately, by night time, the ankle got worse. It was so bad that I couldn’t even move my ankle. My dad said it was because my muscle had cooled down so it hurts even more. My ankle had swollen up too. He wrapped the swollen part with crushed ginger so that it would heat up over night and help the wound. He also mentioned that he will teach me how to do it myself since he will be leaving soon. I was shocked and asked how long I had to apply it. He said “this isn’t a miracle, it’s going to take at least 3 days before it will heal“. I went to bed in pain that night, remembering the lesson God taught me today because of this accident and continued to confess.
The next morning, the ankle got worse. I could hardly walk. It was a Friday, my shortest day, so I thought about taking a medical leave, but I didn’t want to see the doctor (the only guy who can really heal me and judge my symptoms is God!) and pay him money just to get a medical cert. so I went to school, really slowly. It was a pain to go up and down staircases. Sharp pains in fact. “It’s alright, it’s only temporary” Hei Man met me at the bus stop and walked me to my class (I skipped assembly because it would take forever to get to my class on the 3rd floor otherwise) as I held on to her arm for support.
It kinda went on like this for the whole day. Thank God it was a Friday though, where all my classes were on the same floor, and the furthest distance I had to travel was before my lecture, where I had a whole 30 minutes to get there because of a break. On the way to my lecture, I met some of my teachers, one of them who looked at me and said “What are you doing in school! You should be at home resting!”
Here’s the miracle. By late noon, the pain had subsided! Less than 24 hours later! I stayed in the council room the whole afternoon while waiting for Hei Man because it was still uncomfortable to move around, and staircases still gave me some pain (though much less compared to the morning). By late afternoon, my leg was well enough for me to accompany Hei Man all the way to the Causeway Point mall! Cool huh? My leg was still swollened though, and there was still a slight pain. On Saturday morning, my leg was so well that I even vacuumed my whole house for chores! That was an awesome miracle. When my mom asked me if I was still going for caregroup because of my bad sprain, I asked “what sprain?” as I walked all over the house. My dad was kinda shocked too. I haven’t stopped walking around since, going for caregroup all the way at Serangoon (I live in Woodlands) followed by dinner at Chomp Chomp (we walked all the way there) and back home. I went for church today too (there’s a long walking distance from the City Hall MRT station, about 15 minutes)! God is great!!
That is an awesome testimony to me, and something I can throw at the Devil if he ever tries to discourage me during healings. This really is the year of acceleration! Praise God!!
